MaryAnn Titus
MaryAnn Titus is an artist, writer and
teacher in love with imagery and metaphor. Delighted by
an unexpected twist to a line, visual or literary, she is
drawn to the juxtaposition of unlikely elements. A retired
public school teacher, she understands how diversity
strengthens the whole. Coming to art quilting later in life,
her work has evolved in content and technique. After
learning the basics of pieced work from several kind and
patient teachers, she developed a preference for raw edge
collage. Working quickly and spontaneously, she translates
emotions heightened by music and flowing from subjects that
matter to her. Her work has been called
“spiritually complex,” and “emotionally
rich.” She is blessed with an understanding husband,
three adult children with understanding spouses, six
beyond-super grandchildren, and some good and understanding
friends. Her golden retriever, Pure Faith, keeps her grounded
and walking.
